I Have Come To The Conclusion…..

By Peggy Schlichter

That I could never be an animal control officer.  Why?  It is quite simple.  I would end up in jail the first week.  Why?  For padlocking a 15 pound chain around the neck of the owner,  staking him or her in their back yard with no food or water, covering them with fleas and ticks and walking away.  When caught my excuse could be that I checked on them a couple of days ago and they were fine.  I really need to quit watching Animal Cops.

That Transformers II has more plot inconsistencies than I can count but I still liked the entertainment.  There is something about the whole transformer idea that just captivates my imagination.

That this is an idea I would probably never think of.

That this is not a fire alarm but I would surely bust out laughing if I ever walked into someones home and saw this.

That warning labels are getting to dumb for words.  Like…

On a hair dryer – Do Not Use While Sleeping.

On Frozen Dinners – Serving Suggestion: Defrost

Product May Be Hot After Heating.

On An Iron – Do Not Iron Clothes On Body.

On A Sleep Aid – Warning My Cause Drowsiness.

On Peanuts -  Warning May Contain Nuts.

That these are a couple of cool iceberg pictures.

And my final conclusion of the evening…..

That when ever the TV says they have breaking news be prepared to hear it repeated ad nauseam every 8 minutes for days.

A very cool post. I agree with you about the dogs. . Could never figure what it is that makes a person tick who would do that to a helpless animal. The post makes us think..thanks.

Do you know the city code on sidewalks? I’m tired of almost falling over the damn pallets by Sloss’s!

tripper – not for sure but it would probably fall under the nuisance code for obstructing or encumbering public roads, streets, alleys, commons etc. it would be best to speak with the sloss’s first to see if they realize the problem. the next step would be to talk to the city.

I think they call it “sidewalk sales” except this one lasts all year long.

A trip around town would indicate that things are a changin’. New pool, new school (s), and new city digs. Some would argue whether it would fall under progressive, but I think that would fit. I think it’s a good thing. There are many people, some old and some very young, and many more to come who aren’t even born yet who will benefit from all this.
Don’t know what to think about the sidewalk thing, but the owners really wouldn’t want to hamper anyone navigating the sidewalks. If they were asked about it, I’m sure they would try to handle it. Will be nice, however, when they are able to move into their new building and spread it all out.

This is something I could never understand either. You want a dog? Why? To chain up and ignore or just let run loose and then get upset when it doesnt come home or gets hit by a car. It is kind of the same way with having children. Why? So you can put them in daycare so as not to interfere with your chosen career, or so you can earn money to pay for daycare and some of the real passions of your life, “material things” . A dog being chained up or let run is no different to me than a child put in daycare until they are too old and then when they get into trouble everyone wonders why, they came from such a good family!

Then on your warning labels. Because some people are just not that smart, they have to put these warnings on. The only problem is that a lot of these same people either can’t read or don’t understand what they have read. You would be absolutely surprised at how many really stupid people their are out there. A lot of them can get really good grades in school, (which is something I haven’t figured out yet) and then have now smarts out in the world. It’s like someone else is making their decisions for them, the cannot decipher or figure anything out for themselves, or come up with any thing themselves, but just follow a crowd, especially if a friend steers them in a direction.

Those warning labels are there to prevent lawsuits. Do you remember McDonald’s being sued because the person got burned on the hot coffee. Because of people like that, we have obvious warning labels on products.
